Mahi ‘Marlborough’ Sauvignon Blanc 2011

RATING: 90 POINTS

DRINK: 2012-2014

The 2011 Sauvignon Blanc shows pronounced grapefruit, mandarin peel and lemon aromas with whiffs of fresh herbs. Medium-bodied and offering excellent concentration on the palate, it finishes long and harmonious with a suggestion of texture. Drink it now to 2014.

 

Mahi ‘Ballot Block’ Sauvignon Blanc 2011

RATING: 89 POINTS

DRINK: 2012-2012

The 2011 Ballot Block Sauvignon Blanc displays aromas of freshly shelled peas, gooseberry and pears with hints of dill seed and coriander. With a good amount of fruit concentration that reveals layers of herbs, peach and pear flavors, it remains crisp on the palate with a touch of texture and a long finish. Drink it now while it is this youthful and vibrant.

 

Mahi ‘Boundary Farm’ Sauvignon Blanc 2011

RATING: 90 POINTS

DRINK: 2012-2014

The 2011 Boundary Farm Sauvignon Blanc is a grassier style wine with notes of asparagus, lime juice and lemongrass plus touches of chalk. Pure, clean and zesty, it has a nice herbal lift that lingers on the long finish. Drink this one now to 2014.

 

Mahi ‘Twin Valleys Vineyard’ Chardonnay 2011

RATING: 90+ POINTS

DRINK: 2012-2016

The 2011 Twin Valleys Chardonnay opens with a whiff of sulfides before revealing lifted aromas of citrus, pears and apple tart with suggestions of buttered toast and cedar. Medium-bodied with ample concentration and some texture, it is very youthful and vibrant through the long finish. Drink this one now to 2016+.

 

Mahi ‘Ward Farm’ Pinot Gris 2011

RATING: 90+ POINTS

DRINK: 2012-2014

The 2011 Ward Farm Pinot Gris offers a yeasty and toasty nose of warm spiced apple slices, pears and orange blossoms. Medium-bodied, crisp and dry, it has a focused fruit core, a silky texture and finishes long with some yeasty spiciness. Drinking nicely now, it should keep to 2014+.

 

 

Mahi ‘Marlborough’ Pinot Noir 2011

RATING: 89 POINTS

DRINK: 2012-2015

Very pale ruby colored with a hint of purple, the 2011 Pinot Noir opens with delicate strawberry and raspberry notes over hints of dried herbs and bark. Light to medium-bodied, it has nice fruit purity framed with lively acidity and a low level of silky tannins. It finishes long. Drink this one now to 2015.
