home BLOCK Vineyard

Our home block is very special to us, providing a mix of interesting varieties and clones, and allowing us to have a direct connection to the land and the vines, right in our backyard.

Our small vineyard in front of the winery is a special one for us. Planted on stony, well-drained gravels the eastern parcel is totally Pinot Noir, often used as part of our Rosé blend. The western block has some Pinot Noir and we have also planted a small amount of Sémillon and another clone of Sauvignon Blanc to add extra layers to the Mahi Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

One of our oldest vineyards, we have planted a lot of native trees to provide a habitat for native birds and add to the diversity of Marlborough. It has been wonderful over the last 15 years to see and hear more and more native birds such as Tūī, Korimako, Pīwakawaka, and even the occasional Kererū.
