At Mahi, we believe great wine begins in the vineyard. While winemaking can influence and refine what nature provides, the foundation of every exceptional wine is great fruit grown by passionate, skilled people.
For us, a vineyard is about much more than location. It is the combination of the land, the vines, and the people who care for them. A great site has potential, but it is the knowledge, experience, and dedication of the grower that truly allows it to shine. Every season brings new challenges and opportunities, and it is this deep understanding of each vineyard that helps produce fruit of character and quality.
We are fortunate to work with growers who know their vineyards intimately. Many have spent decades working with the same parcels of land, understanding how their vines respond to different seasons and conditions. Their knowledge, patience, and dedication are reflected in the fruit they produce.
When Mahi began in 2001, our vision was to showcase the individuality of Marlborough’s many valleys and vineyards. That philosophy remains at the heart of what we do today — celebrating the diversity of our region and the unique stories behind each place.
